Who are we?
Youth Association Developing Livelihood In Toledo (YADLIT) is a registered community-based NGO committed to positively contributing to the development of sustainable livelihoods in the Toledo District, Belize. This is being accomplished by harnessing the powers of youth engagement, community empowerment, and social networking while providing income-generating opportunities and an inclusive space for community collaboration by youth, women, and indigenous people.

Through youth engagement, community empowerment, and social networking, we provide opportunities for economic growth, leadership development, and social impact.
Mission
Our mission is to empower the youth and communities of Toledo, Belize, by providing education, mentorship, and sustainable development opportunities. Through leadership programs, skills training, and community-driven initiatives, we cultivate resilience, inspire innovation, and build a foundation for lasting social and economic progress.
YADLIT's Main Areas of Focus
YADLIT is dedicated to fostering sustainable livelihoods and community development in the Toledo District through five key focus areas:
Agriculture & Economic Empowerment
- Sustainable farming initiatives, including pig and chicken rearing
- Training in agribusiness, food production, and entrepreneurship
- Income-generating opportunities for youth, women, and indigenous communities
Education & Skills Development
- Computer essential skills training for youth and young adults
- Workshops and mentorship programs to enhance digital literacy and professional growth
- Educational initiatives aimed at bridging knowledge gaps and increasing employability
Sports & Youth Engagement
- Promoting leadership, teamwork, and discipline through sports
- Organizing youth athletic programs to encourage healthy lifestyles and personal development
- Creating opportunities for young athletes to compete and showcase their talents
Media & Community Outreach
- Producing educational and community-based shows like Farmville Friday, Unfinished Business, and Cooking 101
- Using media as a tool to inform, inspire, and engage the community
- Highlighting local success stories and promoting social awareness
Business Development & Entrepreneurship
- Providing business training and financial literacy workshops
- Supporting local entrepreneurs with resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities
- Helping small businesses and startups in the community grow and scale sustainably
